Henna is NOT black

Picture
Never ever ever.  Henna is a natural plant, it stains different shades of red/brown depending on the dye content, skin type, and a few other factors.  Sometimes on the tips of your fingers, you will get a very dark almost black colour from natural henna, this will fade to a red/orange after a couple of days.  Once dried, the henna paste can appear black, not to worry!  I am talking about the chemical PPD (or p-Phenylenediamine) that some people put in their henna paste, or use instead of henna to achieve a dark or black stain.  This can be very dangerous, as it is not meant to dye skin (and is even illegal to use for this purpose in Canada).  It can cause scars, blisters, and many more long term, internal effects.  Please, if you are considering applying PPD ("black henna) to your skin, do your research first!  Assess the risk, and decide if it's really worth it to you.

I use only natural ingredients in my henna paste, and will fully disclose what I am putting on your skin.  I believe the best ingredients come from nature, and wouldn't put anything on your skin that I wouldn't use on my own.

If you would like more information about "black henna" or the ingredients I use, please feel free to contact me.
